1. Wedding season is pretty much in full swing~ lots of orders, and lots of client referals, too~yay for that!

2. I think we *may* have decided on a car to buy...we'll see, but here's a pic of my guys checkin' one out. (probably not this color)

3. Its sooo hot outside...but yay for bright colors, dresses, and sandals. Calypso is my store of choice for the moment.

4. Lil Shorty scored himself an agent all by himself. Seriously. A few weeks ago, we were having dinner at Johnny Rockets, when we were approached by a woman who had been watching lil shorty dance around, chat it up with the server, and stick his fries in his burger. Basically she gave us her card, asked us to give her a call the very next day to set up a meeting with her agency. Since this is definitely Mr. Shorty-Cake's dept., I asked him to do the talking and sure enough, a meeting was set. Long story short, the meeting was a complete success, and now the real work begins...

Oh and this means that my husband, and children all have agents of their own...I have no talent. Hahahhahha! :) :)

nothing too extreme, just the kind of "tired" you feel when you've been going, going, going, and haven't stopped to rest. I just finished (well, not really) a big project which I really loved working on. My hands, my gocco, and craft punches are tired:) I had a huge invitation order all the way from Canada, and there is more to do. Here's a pic to show ya:

Well, it looks like we may be shoppin' around for a new car. Yay for a new car, but boo to a car payment. I guess its not sooo bad, but its been nice not to have one for a while, and I have absolutely no idea as to what we want to buy. Got any good suggestions??

I was so not happy the other day as my blackberry wasn't working for a period of time due to the bberry outage that happened.

Then it started working again...I was a happy camper :)

I was VERY happy to hear that the writer's strike is over...but some of my faves (old & new) wont be back until 09, or at all. oh well...

We did go to Pinkberry on Larchmont the other night, nothin' bad about that. I was strollin by this flower shop and I just had to snap a pic of the gorgeous flowers on display. The camera on my bberry isn't too shaby either...

I'm just such a blog slacker...I admit it.

A couple of weeks ago someone killed my blackberry. Yes, just stepped on it, and killed it. I know it was an accident (don't ask me how it happened) but when I found it on the ground it looked like a bird had crashed into the screen. I'm addicted to that thing like I shouldn't be and so I felt awful.

Dude, I was such a good girl this year, definitely not on the "naughty" list....haha! We had such a great Christmas, getting to visit with the fams, playin' with all of the kiddie's toys, and eating yummy treats! Santa and Hannukah Harry both brought me some awesome gifts, so here are some of the pics of what I got...

I also got movie tickets, lots of other great stuff too! The hubs has pretty muched ditched me for his new love....his precious iphone! All in all it was a great holiday, and its pretty crazy how quickly it is over. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and time to share with your loved ones!

Friday I went to check out the new Juicy Couture store in LA, and it is FABULOUS!!! Oh, it is such a cute store, and the ever so stylish co-founders Pam & Gela were there as well!!

(Photo courtesy of Style.com) I didn't wanna look like a total tourist, so sorry no pics, but the store is PINK! (love it!) This also makes Mr. Shorty-cake pretty happy to know he only has to walk next door for my holiday gifts~ HA!

Later we went to the LA Kings game with some of the hub's old college friends. I'm not so into hockey, but hey should be fun right? As I'm watching the huge monitors up above, ya know when the scan the crowd for crazed fans, celebs, and super cute kids, I look up and there he is......no not David Beckham, oh so cute Milo Ventimiglia!

Very exciting for me...not so much for my hub, especially since he sees him on a semi-regular basis, so.not.fair :( He was there with none other than these two....

John Krasinsky AND Steve Carrell!! Ok, so maybe it was some NBC coincidence, but whatev! Love them, love the show too :) I pretty much then realized that we were sitting pretty close to them, so I spent the better part of the game watching them and eating garlic fries! Oh yeah, the Kings lost 8-6.

Nothing else too exciting to post, but I finally got to try a cupcake from Crumbs!

I tried the pumpkin cupcake and it was soooooo good! While I'll always love Sprinkles....crumbs cupcakes are a bit bigger, and they are open kinda late too! I'll leave you with a pic of the pumpkin treat right before it disappeared!

Right here, yup in front of my computer. I know its been a while, but I guess I just get caught up reading all of my favorite blogs, that I forget to post on my very own. I know, I know...I'm so ashamed. :(

Here's what I've been up to lately:

1. Watching tv. There are so many shows that I follow, my tivo is fillin' up fast. My favorites are~ (some aren't new shows...but whatever) The Office, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Heroes, The Bachelor (I can't shake that one) The Hills, ANTM, Ugly Betty, Chuck, 30 Rock, and Big Shots. I'm sure I'm forgetting some too. :)

2. Working on invitations and all that jazz~ I've actually continued to be quite busy with that, and thats very exciting! Already have some lovely brides lined up for 08 too :)

3. Thinking 'bout the holidays~ I KNOW its early, but I'm already putting our preliminary gift giving list together. I always hate getting that last gift for someone, that I wish I could've gotten waaay earlier, and this year, I won't forget.

4. I'm ashamed to admit that I've been reading soooooo much celebrity gossip. Ok, well not anymore than usual, but I think my brain is just about fried over all of the Britney hoopla. Thank heaven for TMZ and Perez on the blackberry~ Ha!!!

5. Learning the magic that is Google "reader." I gotta thank the monkey for that one!! Blog-stalking is soooooo much easier now!

Ah...September. I used to really look forward to it, as it is my birthday month. Its actually a busy birthday month for me, as one of my bff's shares the same birthday with me. Crazy huh? To top it off, Mr. Shorty-Cake's birthday is 4 days before mine.

What the heck am I gonna get him?

This year it seems particularly difficult...I mean the dude has everything. Besides an actual gift, I'm trying to figure out a good place to take him for dinner (some of our close buds will be with us too) so it would have to accomodate a group of at least 10 people.

Any suggestions??

On a COMPLETELY side note, I almost died the other day. I was walking out of The Coffee Bean and headed to my car when I saw him driving....

I love getting presents in the mail. Before we got married, I was always super thrilled when the UPS man showed up with a box for us. The other day I received this bright and early:

Um....YUM! I immediately opened the box to give 'em a try. Mrs. Tater sent them to me for helpin' her wrap up all of her yummy favors, you know...(a couple of posts down) That was such a sweet thing to do (literally) and my sweet tooth thanks her too!

nice title right? Since Mr. Shorty has made the big move, its been one sighting after the next. Lets see...in the last few days alone I've seen Christina Ferrari at Coffee Bean (some of you may not even know who that is) Larry King on his way to Nate-N-Al's, Tom Selleck, and Mena Suvari at Barneys CO-OP. She just shaved her head, but she looks great (not crazy like Brit-Brit!) I'm thinkin' I have a future as one of the crazy paparazzi huh? JK! Its just always kinda fun to see celebs going about, being normal I guess.

Today I spent most of the day wrapping up delicious cookies from Diddy Riese for the spud's wedding tomorrow! They look adorable, and they taste really good too! I know all of the other wedding junkies and I cant wait to see her beautiful pictures. Best wishes tater, I know its gonna be great! ;)

I've been a little busy. Mr. Shorty-Cake and I attended a family wedding last weekend, and to our suprise, one of his friends from college was getting married at the same time, and right next to the wedding we were at. Needless to say, we were "unofficial" wedding crashers, but not really since we actually knew the people there! Double the weddings, double the fun!

(I would post pics but my damn cable is MIA at the moment. hmpf...)

Otherwise, not much to report...but I am going to a booksigning at IMIX tonight, and I think that means I'll be making a pit stop at Pinkberry on the way home...they finally freakin' opened the joint! (Yay!)

We wake up early. Mr. Shorty-cake doesn't even need the alarm clock to wake him up. I got up to work on some invitation stuff, and turned on the radio. Well....Ryan Seacrest just anounced where the "Free Gas Friday" location was, and it wasn't too far away. I told Mr. Shorty-cake to grab some Starbucks and go! Its free gas for the first 102 cars, and with an SUV....free gas sounds great! He just called me....

He's car #90.

since Mr. Shorty-cake and I said "I do!" Its pretty crazy how time goes by...I still remember the day like it was a few weeks ago. ;) Now, Mr. Shorty-cake has a new love...these exclusive Nike Air Max sneakers that are only available in NY right now. Here's a pic (a very small one) that he's been looking at on his phone ALL DAY! Its pretty funny though....I guess he feels the same about his "kicks" as I do about handbags and cupcakes!

We're trying to plan a sweet lil' getaway for our anniversary in a few weeks. I can't wait. :)

Yikes....its been a while! I'm knee deep in wedding invitations (Yay!) and just busy with everything else. Come to think of it, its been too darn long since I've had a Sprinkles cupcake. I do have a another new love, PINKBERRY! I've been meaning to blog about it for some time now, but just never got around to doing so. It is no secret, as these little yogurt shops have been popping up all over the LA area, and it is just too delicious! My personal fave: Green tea yogurt, with strawberries, mango, and Cap'n Crunch! Boy, am I tired! Talk about a fun weekend.......I was a bridesmaid, and it went by so fast! I've got pics to post, and sore feet too! I hate being sick. It totally sucks, and this weird weather sure doesn't help my mood much. Its almost Valentines Day, and I can't even think about all of the sweets that I want to eat! I've been busy. Very busy.....good busy, so I guess thats great! Since starting my blog for invitations, the response has been great, and that is very exciting! I really cant complain, but I will blame my lack of blogging on our lame internet connection. For some reason, it went kaput AGAIN, and this was decidedly the very last straw. Its been quite the ordeal to get it up and running again, and so until the techies can get over for an appointment, I'm cruising the dial-up circuit. How bad does that suck??

Since not being able to be online much, I've been making invitations, and I finally taste tested cupcakes at a new cupcake bakery in Pasadena. Its called Dots, and though my heart will always belong to Sprinkles, I do have to say that these were pretty good too! They have a variety of flavors, they make mini cupcakes too, and the bakery itself is small and cute!

On a completely different sidenote, Mr. Shorty-cake is a SAG member, and we've been getting all of the fabulous movies that are nominated for awards. This is perfect timing since all of my favorite shows are re-runs right now! Looks like a double feature tonight- The Departed, and Little Miss Sunshine. Cant wait! ;)

Dude, I've been a bad blogger. First off, I really enjoyed our Thanksgiving, and the five days of leftovers that came with it! I also had to start shopping for gifts, and well....I really don't have any other excuses. Its amazing how fast time flies, I can't believe this year is just about over. I remember this time last year, how I was looking forward to our wedding, and WOW, we've now been married for almost six months!

I am so excited for the new year as well! I will assume the posititon of "Super Bridesmaid" in February for a friend's wedding, and we will also have another family wedding in July....(as someone in our family just got engaged over the holiday!) Another great friend is having another baby, and Mr. Shorty Cake and I are planning a fun getaway for early next year!

I know I'm all over the place with this post, but let me just say that the best part of this past weekend was the victory UCLA had over the stinky USC Trojans! Yup, we're hardcore Bruin fans, and just to see the utter disbelief on the SC fans' faces was an early Christmas gift for every Bruin fan!

I love Thanksgiving. I love eating stuffing, mashed potatoes, and everything that goes with it......especially PUMPKIN pie! I can't believe how fast the year is just flying by. We usually make a few stops for the holiday, but this year we are only making one trip to see some family, and then we can come home, and eat again! I think I read somewhere that no matter how much you eat in one day, you can only gain one pound! Thats good news, since I like to try to eat as much as possible.

Then it will be time to shop for more Chrismukkah gifts! I want sooooo many things its ridiculous, at least thats what Mr. Shorty Cake keeps tellin' me........

Well, after a really busy week, and a few days without the internet.....I'm back. I'm just waiting for Mr. Shorty Cake to get home with my peppermint latte from coffee bean! I can't believe the holidays are just around the corner.....YES, I've started shopping, YES, Mr. Shorty Cake is trying to find out what I've bought for him, and YES I'm trying so hard not to tell him! I'm also trying to have my holiday card completed early enough, and I'll be creating some invitations for some friends that are getting married. Sheesh...I'm tired just thinking about it!

We went out for my belated birthday with Mrs. RoRo and her hub.....it was super fun, and super yummy! She also gave me a really beautiful necklace that I love! Can't wait to hang out with them again.......we always have a great time!

Gettin' my hair cut this weekend....FINALLY!! Oh I can't wait. I'm also gonna try to check out the Paul Frank collabo sale this weekend. Limited edition items from past collaborations will be on sale. I really wanna go!

Today is a celebration!

Today is a holiday. In Mexico, today (Thursday) is the "Dia de los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead." It is basically a celebration of the lives of our loved ones that have passed on. You certainly don't have to BE Mexican to celebrate this day, as we ALL have friends and/or family that have passed away. People sometimes set up mini "altars" to remember the dead with pictures, flowers, and any special thing that person may have loved during their lifetime.

Mr. Shorty Cake lost his dad a few years ago, and my grandfather passed away earlier this year. We miss them dearly, but we have so many great memories of them both! I am posting a pic of the altar I made.....as it is just a small way to remember them.

Holiday shopping......already??

I love to shop. I love shopping for gifts! I can't believe the holidays are technically just around the corner. Mr. Shorty Cake will be getting very busy with work, which leaves me to get most of our gifts. I could never really understand how some people holiday shop early in the year, but now I'm starting to realize that this is something I should do. Every year I always say that we'll get gifts ahead of time, and I never do. Thats gonna change......

I have made my list...checked it twice, and now I'm off to find somethin' nice. Speakin' of gifts, look what Mr. Shorty Cake brought home for me yesterday. Two years ago, I had this FABULOUS Burberry cashmere scarf. Well, I lost it at a cemetery of all places...... I could never find the same scarf after that, but he bought me one that I love just as much! You might think its weird, but I think its fab! Take a look.......................

I hate being sick. I woke up this morning, and I feel miserable. Thank heaven Mr. Shorty Cake is home today to take care of me. Yay for bridal showers! We threw the shower for Miss Martini this weekend, and it was quite a success! Boy....I'm exhausted. Everyone loved my fabulous flowers, we had great food, and a really yummy red velvet cake! All in all, it was a great day, and I've posted some pics for you all too see!

I've got so much to do. I've actually been busy getting ready for a bridal shower this weekend, and doing actual "work" stuff...... To top it off, I was totally having some internet drama the other day, and I couldn't get online at all EEK! I am excited though.....I may be making a Sprinkles trip tomorrow, and hanging out with my super cool sister! She owns this fabulous little bookstore in Eagle Rock, and she's got some really cute stuff...that I always want!

Speaking of busy.....Mr. Shorty Cake will be super busy at work now, since the holidays are quickly starting to approach. We actually starting making our Chris-mukkah lists! YAY! I'm even gonna make the effort to send holiday cards this year too.......we'll see!

I love Bono. He is sooo cool, and definitely Nobel Peace Prize worthy! Today, he helped Oprah launch the product (RED) campaign. Ok peeps......time to shop! Companies will be donating money from their RED products to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Yes, I rushed out to the GAP to buy my tee, but they also have lots of other items as well. I love pumpkin desserts. Anything, I'll take it. I love this time of year, because this is when all of the yummy pumpkin stuff is available. I love pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin cupcakes from Sprinkles, (of course!) and even pumpkin ice-cream. I especially like this pic of these mini pumpkin cheesecakes......almost too cute to eat!

I think I may treat myself to a pumpkin spice latte later today......

So besides blogging.....I've started creating invitations. I am creating "Save the Dates," and invitations for an internet buddy......and I completed the bridal shower invite that I mentioned I was making as well! I am soooo happy with they way they both turned out, and here's a couple of pics for your viewing pleasure (all two of you!)

So last night, Mr. Short Cake and I went to check out this art exhibit in LA. It was really cool, and here's a bit about it.

Since Day of the Dead follows Halloween, the two experiences have become closely linked in the United States. However, their traditions are distinct. “In Mexico, Dia de Los Muertos mostly involves going to the cemetery to do altars or leave offerings (such as food, sweets or flowers); the art-making aspect is not as active,” said Artemio Rodríguez, one of several Los Angeles artists whose work is featured in the exhibit. “But here in the United States, since we Latinos are far from our homeland, we rely more on art to express the occasion.” Rodriguez mused on Day of the Dead’s growing popularity among Americans. “I think Day of the Dead makes us remember our dead, but at the same time, it also makes us more deeply aware of the fragility of life. And it does this in an artistic way that’s not morbid or based on fear. I think the lesson is to do the best that we can and to be good people because there’s a point where we all have to cross to the other side.”

Bridesmaid-zilla

I loved my wedding. I love looking at wedding mags, and pics of course! I'm sooooo glad that a good friend is tying the knot in a few months, and so I have now assumed the position of "Bridesmaid." We are hosting a bridal shower for her at the end of the month, and there is just soooo much to do. I'm creating the invitations, (which is a new favorite thing to do) centerpieces, and favors. Ok, I gave myself lots of tasks! My shower was fabulous, so I definitely want to make her's special too. Here's a pic of a flower that I am making for the centerpieces.....I've made one so far, only 20 more to go........sheesh!

I was just checkin' out some of my favorite sites....as always, and I came across this oh so cute box! They are from Pottery Barn and at $69 bucks...seems like a pretty good price! They can be used for just about anything........I can throw my gossip rags, and wedding mags in 'em. I can also use them as an uber-fancy gift box too! I must have one! Just need to convince Mr. Shorty Cake..............

Today is Thursday, and I'm soooooo looking forward to watching The Office tonight! That show is the best, and it is really funny! I'm also going to one of my favorite stores- Paper Source, and I'm really trying to resist the urge to stop at Sprinkles for some yummy cupcakes! I volunteered to make some invitations for a bridal shower, and since my own wedding, I've come to find that I am obsessed with paper products! I've got tons to do before this bridal shower, so we'll see how the invites come out. I am also trying to find a new hobby, something fun, and something that I'll stick with. l have friends that make jewelry, I gave up on knitting, and I wont scrapbook....that is entirely tooo much work! Hmmmmm, we'll see what I come up with..........

I love candy. Chocolate, sour, gummy.....whatever I love it. I also love sushi. I could probably eat it everyday if I had to! I recently started watching the Rachael Ray show, and she brought my two faves together, sort of.....

She did a segment on lunchbox makeovers.......and created a really cool lunch for kids! My favorite part was the desert of course, and she made candy sushi!!! How awesome right? Its super simple, super yummy, and now I have a new favorite snack!

Too Much Tivo......

I love my tivo. I really can't even imagine watching tv without it! Now that all of the fall shows are startin' up, I wasn't worried about missing anything because I knew my my good 'ol tivo was on the job.

Last week, I was just mindin' my biz, watching tv, when suddenly......IT BROKE! Yup, it froze the screen, (it was frozen for what seemed like an eternity) shut itself off, and when it powered itself back on, it said some crap about the hard drive being severely damaged! I didn't even know what to do, so I called Mr. Shorty Cake, and as any loving hub would do, he called and ordered a new one right away!

Days went by, and still no tivo.....I almost didn't even want to watch tv...(crazy, I know) A few days later, there was a knock at the door, and when I opened it--a new tivo right at my feet! I ran out and waived as the UPS man drove away! I instantly set that bad boy up, just in time to get all of the new shows recorded! Here are my faves from the week:

Sunday: The Amazing Race...An oldie, but still goodie
Monday: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Tuesday: Dancing with the Stars....hey ballroom dancin' aint easy, and I like Jerry Springer!
Smith......An all-star cast which includes Ray Liotta, Virgina Madsen, Simon Baker,
and Amy Smart.
Wednesday: America's Next Top Model......c'mon gotta love Ty Ty, the Jay's, Twiggy, and HOT
Nigel Barker!
Thursday: THE OFFICE! Best show on TV.....Steve Carrell, and Rainn Wilson are the best!
Six Degrees.....so far so good!

Best Birthday Cake EVER!

I love cake. I especially love cupcakes, but now I've found the cake of my dreams, and dammit I want it! (Nevermind that I just had a birthday, but this gives me something to look forward to for next year.) It is a Super Mario Bros. cake! I totally heart the old school Mario games on Nintendo, and this is just too cute. I hope Mr. Shorty Cake sees this.......I know he would love it too--well, maybe not as much as me.......
